Branding Concept

The concept for the dessert is inspired by the well-loved D.I.Y Sushi & Salad Restaurant, Maki-San where customers are presented with a unique dessert concept where they get to customise their own bowl of shaved ice dessert with a variety of toppings and syrups.

Kakki Bean uses a vibrant colour palette and typeface that invokes feelings of joy and happiness when hanging out with friends - also reminiscent of the colourful vibrant flavoured syrups used in a bowl of Ice Kacang.

Kakki in the brand name is derived from the May colloquial term “Kaki” which literally translates to "leg". Overtime this term has evolved to also refer to a close companion or someone you spend time with. As for Bean, it is a similar-sounding word play to “Beings” in Human Beings, with red beans also being an essential topping of this dessert.
