PACKAGING & FORM

An origami pocket holder was made to stay true to the theme and material used. Using Washi-like paper and one of its uses, Origami folding the idea is reflected in this form which acts as an outer-cover/holder for the book. As a result, the whole book too takes on a square format, suggesting the form of Origami paper as well which are usually squared.

THE CONTENT

The contents of the book provides insight to the material of the medium (book) with various sections ranging from its origins to its various uses namely: Kami-ito, Moku-hanga (Woodblock Printing), Chiyogami (Origami), Washi Tape, Suminagashi (Water Marbling)

Apart from the textured paper used in printing where the grains of the material are visible, various Washi paper types are inserted with reasoning in between printed pages in the form of swatches; in accordance with the respective sections. They provide a tactile browsing experience with its variety in textures.
