도깨블인 Dokkae-blin (Tapestry)

Ewha Womans University Exchange Programme

Dokkae-blin is a contemporary tapestry piece, an expansion of the same-title banner project with the intention of bringing out the dimensionality of the motifs in the composition through a different medium.

The project is inspired by the Korean folklore on the Oenun Dokkaebi (외눈도깨비) - A one-eyed dokkaebi (goblin) that loves to eat.
The goblin featured in the project is gobblin’ up, devouring several popular Korean dishes and street food.

Motifs

Korean food featured: Ramyeon, A bottle of soju, Bingsu (Shaved Ice dessert), Bibimbap (Mixed Rice), Gimbap (Korean Sushi Roll) and the Tall Soft Serve Ice Cream

*Some of the food takes on the one-eyed characteristic of the goblin
